Bali is on track to become the home of arguably the longest and largest rooftop swimming pool globally, as the Magnum Residence Berawa Complex nears completion in Canggu, Bali.

The rooftop pool, situated on Bali’s west coast, will stretch an impressive 190 meters, surpassing all others and earning the developers the claim of creating the world’s largest rooftop pool. This dwarfs the current record held by the 146-meter pool atop the Marina Sands Hotel in Singapore.

Once finished, The Magnum Residence Berawa will feature 150 luxury apartments, all within 500 meters of Berawa Beach. Each unit will showcase a high-tech Smart Home design, complemented by top-notch furnishings.

The apartments are available in various configurations, with a one-bedroom unit spanning 81 square meters priced at US$350,000, while a two-bedroom unit covering 162 square meters is listed at US$590,000.

Magnum Estates, a significant foreign investment property enterprise in Bali, is overseeing the development of at least five property complexes, including those in Canggu, Umalas, and Sanur.

Units are being marketed to both local and foreign investors as managed rental units with guaranteed rates of return.

The Magnum Residence Berawa Complex is currently under construction and is slated for completion in 2025.

The previous decree, issued on May 31, 2023, forbidding the ascent of Bali’s 22 volcanoes, has failed to take hold and is now being ignored. The climbing ban appears to have exceeded its legal authority.

As reported by NusaBali.com, the number of climbers ascending and descending Bali’s Mount Batur (elevation 1,717 meters) is now back to “normal levels,” despite the unseasonably high temperatures and drought conditions affecting the Island of Bali.

Made Budiadnyana Putra, the Head of The Association for the Management of Protected Forests (KPHK) at the Agency for the Conservation of Bali’s Natural Resources (KSDA-Bali), assured on Monday, October 23, 2023, that climbing activities are operating at normal levels.

Putra calculates a daily average of 200 people climbing Mount Batur, with weekends and holidays recording the highest number of climbers. Indonesian hikers dominate the number of total visitors to the mountain top. Adding: “The volume of climbers is not affected by the (current) dry season conditions.”

Made Budiadnyana Putra said that a licensed mountain guide invariably accompanies every visitor who climbs Mount Batur. This is done to maximize the prevention of forest fires on the mountain’s slopes. Putra explained that the mountain’s area is relatively safe from the threat of fire, with the areas most at risk being the sides of main roads. This danger is heightened by lit cigarette butts carelessly discarded by passing motorists and trekkers.

The active involvement of local guides also ensures that visitors will not act in outrageous ways that have offended local sensibilities in the past.

The management of Nature Reserves and Sanctuaries Associations and related association agencies are urging mountain climbers not to discard trash in the mountain surroundings and to spare no effort to prevent forest fires. Climbers are personally cautioned by guides and reminded by roadside banners to act wisely in preserving the local environment.

Based on research and the resulting documentation on “carrying capacity” undertaken by Bali’s Center for Control of Ecoregional Development (P3E), Mount Batur has a carrying capacity to handle 500 daily visitors. Meanwhile, the actual average number of daily visitors to the Mountain peak is around 200 people.

Good bye Grand Inna, Welcome Truntum Kuta https://acetraveltour.com/grand-inna-truntum-kuta/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=grand-inna-truntum-kuta Mon, 16 Oct 2023 04:36:00 +0000 https://acetraveltour.com/?p=9326 The Grand Kuta Inna Hotel, situated right on Bali's famous Kuta Beach, has undergone a name change to Truntum Kuta. The name transition was celebrated at Truntum Kuta's Mentari Beach Bar on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.

The Grand Kuta Inna Hotel, prominently located on Bali’s iconic Kuta Beach, has officially rebranded as Truntum Kuta.

This significant name alteration was commemorated at Truntum Kuta’s Mentari Beach Bar on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. The event embraced the theme “Cetu Murtaning Rat,” inspired by a Hindu epic from the Ramayana, symbolizing the arrival of a new era. This story recounts how the White Monkey god, Hanoman, constructed a bridge leading to a “better situation.”

In a similar vein, the transformation of the Grand Inna Kuta Hotel into Truntum Kuta marks a fresh chapter in the history of one of Kuta’s most historic hotel properties. First opening its doors 62 years ago, the hotel experienced its initial name change in 1974 when it became the Natour Kuta Beach Hotel. Subsequently, in 2001, it adopted the name Inna Kuta Beach before changing once more in 2013 to Grand Inna Kuta. From its original name in 1961 to its latest avatar as Truntum Kuta, the hotel has operated under five distinct names.

Thory Prabawa, Director of Hospitality Businesses and Partnership Management for PT Wijaya Karya Realty, the owner of Truntum Kuta, expressed confidence that the property will continue to attract tourists seeking a genuine “Kuta Experience,” especially during New Year celebrations.

As quoted by Kompas.com, Prabawa stated, “We believe that Truntum Kuta will become a preferred staycation destination that reflects the rich charm of Balinese culture, offering a unique blend of authentic Balinese traditions with a touch of luxury.”

The name-changing event on October 11, 2023, was also used to introduce Truntum Kuta’s new staff uniforms in a fashion show.

PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (PELINDO), the state-owned port management company overseeing seaports in Bali and Nusa Tenggara (NTT), has revealed a 45% surge in requests for port calls at Bali’s southernmost port, Benoa, for the year 2024.

The Head of PELINDO in Bali and NTT, Ali Sodikin, confirmed this increase in requests, as stated by the State News Agency Antara.

Moreover, PELINDO’s data shows that from January 6th to October 6th, 2023, 30 cruise ships carrying 21,679 passengers visited the port of Benoa. This marks a significant rise compared to the same period in 2022 when 14 ships brought 7,000 passengers to the Port of Benoa.

Sodikin attributes this upsurge in cruise ship visits to Bali to the end of the COVID-19 pandemic and the reopening of Indonesian international gateways to tourism.

Looking ahead to 2025, Bali is poised to embrace cruise tourism fully, with online registration available for international cruise ships visiting the island. A new Marine Tourism Center is under construction at Benoa, purposefully designed to streamline the arrival and departure of cruise ship passengers.

The new cruise terminal at Benoa will offer foreign currency exchange kiosks, information booths, ATMs, and local kiosks selling merchandise operated by small and medium-sized entrepreneurs.
